What to Expect When Visiting

The first stop for most is one of our Worship Services. Both services are identical and happen at 8:45 & 11:00 a.m. Services are held in the Auditorium, located just to the right as you enter the building. Most Sunday Services last 65 minutes, a few are shorter and even fewer last longer.

What happens during church?

A typical worship service opens with few worship songs, led by our worship band. The music is typical of what is heard on Contemporary Christian radio stations, such as K-Love.  We follow that with a time of Communion each Sunday. Communion is offered to all who have accepted Jesus as their Savior. We encourage each believer to participate as they remember Jesus and commit their lives to Him. We encourage children and those who are not in a committed relationship with Jesus, to wait to participate until this part of worship has meaning to you.

Following communion, there is a Bible-based time of preaching. The current sermon series is highlighted on our home page. We typically close out the service with an additional song or two.

During the service, there are often a few minutes for meeting and greeting those around you; however, we will never “call out” guests.

On your way into the Auditorium, one of our greeters will hand you a bulletin, highlighting the day’s service, along with providing information on current events going on within the congregation.

Other Frequently Asked Questions

What happens in between the services?

In between the two services, we offer a variety of Maximum Impact classes, beginning at 10AM. Classes are offered for all age groups and cover a variety of topics. See our Maximum Impact page for our current set of classes.

What should I wear?

Be comfortable; come as you are. Most people wear business casual or jeans.

How do I get to Norwin Christian Church?

We’re located at 9610 Barnes Lake Road in North Huntingdon, PA. If you are coming from Route 30, we are located at the very top of the hill.

Where should I park?

If you are a visitor, we have specially marked parking places for you across from the Main Auditorium. If you don’t see them, or if they’re taken, feel free to park anywhere in the lot surrounding the building. If you park in the rear of the building, or in the extended stone parking area, there is a rear entrance available.

If you come to visit with the staff during the week, our office entrance is located in back of the building on the far corner.

Where do my kids go?

There is something for every age group during both Sunday morning services, and through the Maximum Impact hour. We highly value the safety and security of each child. When you drop your child off for a class, you will be given a parent tag to match a tag to be worn by your child.

Specific classrooms by age group are posted on the Children’s Ministry page.

Signs are posted throughout the building to help direct you to the various classrooms. If you are unable to locate a specific room, please visit our Information Center in the main entrance, or ask one of our greeters in the lobby.

Where can I get a cup of coffee or tea?

In between services, you can find coffee and tea at our Café in the lobby.

Am I expected to put money in the offering?

If you are visiting with us, we do not expect you to put money in the offering. If you consider Norwin Christian Church your church home, we’d love for you to prayerfully consider giving.  Collection boxes are located in the rear of the auditorium. You can give by check or cash on your way in or out of the service.

Is the church handicap accessible?

Yes. Our main entrance is on the same level as the parking lot and there are multiple parking spots near the building designated for handicapped parking. We also have an elevator to assist with reaching the Fellowship Hall and other rooms in the church.
