Throughout Jesus’ ministry He welcomed and loved children. Jesus said “Let the little children come to Me and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.” Jesus valued children. We also consider children a high priority and do our best to make the most of every moment we have with your children. Our goal is to have a safe, nurturing, Bible-based, relevant, fun environment where children want to be each week. We call our ministry to children, newborn – 6th grade, “KINGDOMS for KIDS.” And each age grouping in the “kingdom” has its own name.

Kingdom Krusades

Kingdom Krusades is a great summer program that is centered around a bus trip to a local attraction. After the trip we spend time in the afternoon at the church playing games and doing a hands-on Bible activity. Our Krusades are open to anyone going into kindergarten through 5th grade.

Security and Peace of Mind

We believe children are special gifts from God and are very precious to us. Therefore, we strive to provide an environment where children and parents feel safe and secure.

Before going to his/her class area, your child (Nursery through 4th grade) will be checked into our electronic system and receive a name tag with a randomly assigned number on it.  You will receive a Parent Receipt tag with a matching number that you need to present when you pick up your child.  Using these tags insure that only a parent or authorized adult may pick up your child.

1.  Go to the Welcome Desk in the main entry area. If you are a first time guest, let the volunteer at the desk know, and they will enter your information into our system.
(You can save a few minutes before service by pre-registering you child here…  Check-In Registration)

 2.  The volunteer will print out a nametag for your child, and a Parent Receipt with a number that corresponds to your child’s name tag.

 3.   If you are needed at any point during the service, we will place your Parent Receipt number on the screen in the auditorium. If this occurs, please return to the child’s classroom area immediately.

 4.  After service, bring your Parent Receipt back to your child’s assigned area. A leader will verify the number and your child will be released to you.

 5. If you lose your parent receipt at any point during the service, please head to the welcome desk before picking up your child. Be prepared to show identification in order to receive a new receipt.

We value your family and continuously work to make your child’s experience at Norwin Christian Church the best hours of their week and as FUN and exciting as the incredible God who loves them.

Joining the Team

Please read the information below and then contact Maureen Gratton if you would like to serve on the Children’s Ministry Team.

Every Ministry Team at NCC helps make disciples of Jesus Christ. Servants on the Children’s Ministry Team make eternal investments in the lives of children as we help them prepare to Come to God and begin Walking with the Word of Life. Team members also provide a weekly opportunity for parents and guardians to consider their own relationships with Jesus Christ. And there are many different ways to serve within this ministry. We encourage you to serve where God has gifted you.

Serving on this ministry team requires an application process, a police background check, and obtaining Act 34 clearances. A completed application gives us permission to perform all necessary background checks. We go this extra step in order to protect our children, our volunteers, and our standing in the community. Thank you for your cooperation.

Contact Maureen if you have any questions or would like to join the Children’s Ministry Team.
